Nativity Sets - Choices For Your Christmas Decorations Indoors and Outdoors

Choosing Christmas decorations can be a bit overwhelming. Thousands of different types of Christmas trees, lights, animated decorations for the garden, yard or even roof, all being thrust before you from August and September onwards. It can be a relief sometimes to go back to the original Christian Nativity Story and buy a nativity set as an important part of your holiday season decor.

Even having made the choice of a nativity set or two, the choices can still be very wide. Much can depend on whether you want a traditional Christmas nativity or a modern one, large nativity figures or small, and whether they are for indoors or outdoors.

For indoors nativities there is a wonderful choice. For collectors and those who appreciate an artists touch in their Christmas ornaments, their are some well known ranges which fit the bill such as Fontanini nativity sets and those by Precious Moments.

Outdoors, Christmas decorations tend to be larger, sometimes very large or even giant. That is true of nativity scenes, sets and figures as well as Santa Claus, reindeer, snowman and other familiar Christmas characters.

An example is pictured on the left, showing a commercial, lighted nativity set, also from Christmas Trees Galore. This impressive nativity is of mary and Joseph with manger and baby. While this may not be suitable for traditionalists, it does make an impression and remind those who see it of the nativity story of Christmas. At 14 feet long and 8 feet high, and with 339 lights (LED), this must be classified as a very large or even giant outdoor Christmas decoration.
